LiGHT-FiSH is a product design studio with a vision to be India’s leader in sustainable design
LiGHT-FiSH is a project serving clients in lighting, furniture and home appliances. The project is located in Auroville, an international township in Tamil Nadu, a place of research, collaboration and sharing of knowledge, aspiring to perfection.
Much like the stages of growth of a plant, from seed to tree, LiGHT-FiSH chooses a design process that is organic and systematic. Sustainable materials are carefully chosen and crafted into visionary and intelligently designed products.
LiGHT-FiSH is a regenerative design project for a brighter, more sustainable future
We source our wood directly from a small forest in the North of Auroville called Kamataru. The fallen trees in certain sections of the forest are cut into logs and seasoned before being sent to our workshop and turned into lights.
Sawdust, a byproduct, is returned to Kamataru to get transformed into mulch and compost for the forest and the vegetable garden, the same biomass is returned to the land from which it was extracted and a full ecological cycle is completed.
